1. Overview
Ghar Se allows the sale of over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and, where permitted by law, prescription medicines through verified partner pharmacies. All medicine sales must comply with the Drug Act 1976 and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) regulations.
2. Seller Requirements
Only verified pharmacies and pharmaceutical sellers may list medicines on Ghar Se. All sellers must:
- Valid License: Hold a valid drug sales license issued by the relevant health authority
- Qualified Pharmacist: Employ or contract a registered pharmacist to supervise all medicine dispensing
- Storage Compliance: Maintain proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity) as per manufacturer guidelines
- Record Keeping: Maintain records of all medicine sales for a minimum of two years
- Batch Tracking: Record batch numbers and expiry dates for all dispensed medicines
3. Product Listing Requirements
All medicine listings must include accurate and complete information:
- Salt Composition: Complete list of active pharmaceutical ingredients with strengths
- Dosage Form: Clearly indicate whether tablet, capsule, syrup, injection, cream, etc.
- Packaging: Specify pack size (e.g., 10 tablets, 100ml bottle)
- Manufacturer: Name of the manufacturing company
- Batch & Expiry: Batch number and expiry date must be visible on dispensed product
- Price: Maximum Retail Price (MRP) must be displayed; no pricing above MRP
4. Prescription Medicines
Prescription Required
Medicines marked as prescription-only require a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner before purchase. Prescriptions must be less than 30 days old for most medications.
For prescription medicines:
- Customers must upload a valid prescription during checkout
- The partner pharmacy's pharmacist must verify the prescription before dispensing
- Prescription-only medicines cannot be sold without verification
- Repeat prescriptions are valid for a maximum of 3 months as per DRAP guidelines
- Ghar Se reserves the right to refuse any prescription that appears forged or altered
5. Prohibited Substances
The following substances are strictly prohibited from sale on Ghar Se:
- Narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances (unless specifically authorized)
- Controlled substances as defined by the Control of Narcotic Substances Act
- Counterfeit or expired medicines
- Medicines without valid Drug Registration Number (DRN) from DRAP
- Herbal or traditional medicines making unsubstantiated medical claims
- Scheduled drugs without appropriate controlled substance license
6. Age Restrictions
Customers purchasing medicines must be at least 18 years of age. Ghar Se reserves the right to request age verification for any medicine order. Delivery of medicines requires physical receipt by a person aged 18 or above.
7. Delivery & Handling
- Medicines must be delivered in their original, unopened packaging
- Temperature-sensitive medicines must be delivered using appropriate cold chain packaging
- Delivery personnel must be trained in handling pharmaceutical products
- Medicines cannot be left at the doorstep without recipient verification
8. Returns & Refunds
Due to health and safety regulations, medicines cannot be returned once delivered unless:
- The product received is damaged, expired, or defective
- The wrong product or strength was dispatched
- The product is found to be counterfeit
Refunds for approved returns will be processed within 7 business days. Customers must report any issues within 24 hours of delivery.
9. Compliance & Monitoring
Ghar Se regularly audits partner pharmacies for compliance with this policy. Violations may result in:
- Warning notice for first-time minor violations
- Temporary suspension of medicine listing privileges
- Permanent removal from the platform for serious or repeated violations
- Reporting to DRAP or other regulatory authorities for legal violations
10. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate health and medication information
- Do not share prescription medicines with others
- Follow the dosage and usage instructions provided by the pharmacist
- Report any adverse effects to the dispensing pharmacy immediately
- Verify that all received medicines match the order and are within expiry date
11. Data Privacy
Health and medication data is treated as sensitive personal information. Ghar Se complies with all applicable data protection laws. Customer prescription and health data will only be shared with the dispensing pharmacy and will not be used for marketing purposes without explicit consent.
